The author of "Sunrise: Life After Traumatic Brain Injury: A Healing Journey in Surviving TBI, an Empowering True Story", Kristin Abello, was interviewed by Logan Crawford of Spotlight TV. Kristin Abello was hit by a car while on a training run with her husband in preparation for the Marine Corps Marathon in 2002. She sustained a traumatic brain injury and other physical injuries. She was in a coma for seven days. This inspirational book tells the story of faith, healing, love, and hope after a TBI. Kristin also shares how the support, love, and prayers of her husband, family, and friends helped her on her journey of healing from TBI. The author also mentioned that the proceeds of this book will go to the hospitals supporting TBI. Kristin Abello lives in Houston with her husband, their two boys, and their Golden Retrievers. She is working as an exercise specialist at both Halliburton and Texas Children’s Hospital. She also serves on the TIRR (The Institution for Rehabilitation and Research) Family Board, the TIRR Foundation Board (2005–2015), and participates as an auction chair and committee member of various schools in the Houston metropolitan area.
